Abstract
The use of simulation is growing in popularity in nursing education. More specifically, the demand for human-patient simulators use to develop clinical nursing skills in a safe learning environment is recommended. Use and low-level evaluation are well documented in undergraduate nursing programs. Research exploring to what degree pre and post simulation experiences influence behavior change is warranted. Additionally, research into which features affect the transfer of simulation knowledge into practice of newly graduated nurses, in a hospital based nurse residency program, will generate momentum toward improved patient outcomes.
