Abstract

Technology as a learning tool has become an important instrument in education today. Computer-based technologies hold great promise both for increasing access to knowledge and as a means of promoting learning (Bansford et al, 2000). With the demand for students to develop problem-solving skills, the computer can aid in that process. Doing hands-on work and working in groups helps students develop a better grasp of concepts and also gain valuable skills useful for the future (McNeely, 2005). This article focuses on how computer-based applications is being used as a learning tool in the elementary school, in the middle/junior high school, and in the high school.
