Abstract
Digital video is one of the latest technologies to find its way into education. Unfortunately students from less well off communities run the risk of being left behind. This paper focuses on a project to integrate digital video on a small branch campus of a university in a poor California county. With limited resources the first semester digital video was demonstrated to students in educational technology classes. Students still began integrating digital video into their projects for the first time. Workshops for faculty were well attended, and enough technology was available for faculty to get hands-on experience. In the second semester more technology allowed students to create a digital video project. More workshops were also held for faculty. Exposing faculty and students to the latest technology may be one way to help bridge the technology gap facing poor communities, and this project demonstrates that you can start small and still have results.
