Abstract

This paper reports on an aspect of a larger study; it explores the early educational experiences of 167 under- and post-graduates students in the authors’ institutions and compares them with the respondents’ own teaching strategies. Younger respondents compared to older respondents have experienced a variety of technologies prior to entering third level which reflects the increase use and development of technology for education; both sets of responses are vague in identifying specific teaching strategies. Focus groups or interviews are identified as being more appropriate research methodologies and will be used in the next stage of the project.
