Abstract
In “ENVI” Virtual Center of Wellnes Campus students can acquire knowledge, skills, and competence in Rovaniemi University Applied Sciences in Finland. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze learning experiences of group of nurses and public health nurses in ENVI, during their first year studies. The theoretical perspective is rooted in sociocultural learning which describes learning as a function, where question is about what experiences people get from the situations. The research uses a qualitative approach. In this paper I concentrate in analyzing the training experiences of the first year students (2008-2009). In conclusion, the simulated and virtual environment is positively received, and is motivating for learning. For the first year students, it is important, to have time to become familiar with the environment, and the options of repeating the simulation.
