Abstract
This work examines the integration of generative AI (GAI) tools in education and the importance of AI literacy for educators. It highlights the gap in existing AI literacy frameworks, which were predominantly developed outside of educational contexts, and the necessity for frameworks tailored to teaching and learning purposes. Through a review of literature focused on AI literacy, the authors identify key components vital for educators and propose a new framework emphasizing prompt literacy. This work aims to enhance educators' ability to effectively utilize GAI tools, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities presented in educational settings.
