Abstract

This mixed methods study documents the experience of a first time pilot program integrating iPads into the classroom for four instructors, with varying degrees of iPad skills, at a teaching intensive university in the Rocky Mountain Region. The study is comprised of a running record of the four instructors’ experiences, and includes a comparative element that examines those experiences through a questionnaire detailing: successes, difficulties, preparation, and the time commitment required to effectively incorporate iPads into existing curriculum. In addition, the researchers surveyed the information technologists and the students involved in the iPad integration pilot program. This research may assist in providing insight to other educators who are following this path towards technology integration.
