Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the current status of technology integration during student teaching in our college. It is a natural extension of efforts to integrate technology into preservice methods courses at Arizona State University, the largest teacher preparation program in the United States. Triangulated data gathered from program coordinators and site coordinators helped us understand the current situation so that we could make informed decisions about moving tech infusion efforts into student teaching. Facets investigated included program and site coordinator views of systems readiness, and evidence of how our teacher candidates currently integrate technology during student teaching. Taken together, qualitative and quantitative data pointed to initial findings that will guide professional development and other efforts to further technology use by teacher candidates during student teaching.
