Abstract
Electronic portfolios (e-folios) are often used as a means of evaluating students’ performance in many higher education institutes. E-portfolios provide a creative way of organizing, summarizing, and sharing student artifacts, and demonstrating evidence of students’ professional growth. Faculty and students, however, oftentimes find the organizing and managing aspects of an e-portfolio overwhelming. In this presentation, participants will be shown different strategies and techniques that are being used in one university’s on-line program to assist faculty and students in making an e-portfolio more effective. Participants will see examples of e-portfolios exemplifying the organizing and managing principles used. Handouts summarizing the techniques/strategies will be provided.
