Abstract
With the expansion of online programs in higher education, who has the day-to-day responsibility in guiding the design and monitoring the quality of the learning experiences? If it is the work of an academic coordinator for an online program, then we need to examine the role of coordination by examining such elements as communication, continuity, coherence, collaboration, and community. Each of the five “C’s” will be examined, discussed and recommendations for best practices will be shared.
