Abstract

The use of emerging technologies in K-12 education includes the category of augmented reality applications (AR) for learning. This paper focuses on the trends of AR in recent scholarly works involving the implementation of AR in K-12 classrooms. This meta analysis research identifies trends with respect to educational context and content, pedagogical implementation strategies and their subsequent learning outcomes in an effort to inform the reader toward best practice with integrating AR technologies in K-12 education. The conclusions of this meta analysis research provides support and direction for the practicing educator who is considering integrating AR tools and technologies into the K-12 learning environment.
