Abstract

This paper is a report on the evaluation of a statewide project, Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology, funded by the U.S. Department of Education in 1999 (Award Number P342A990529). Evaluation activities were conducted for the following purposes: (1) fulfill requirements for final reporting to the U.S. Department of Education, (2) determine if project goals and objectives were met, and (3) determine need and justification for continuation of project activities. The evaluation revealed evidence of numerous models for higher education faculty development, models for developing and implementing technology-rich field experiences for preservice teachers, project web sites, the development of a software program (Preparing Teachers to Meet Technology Standards), and collaboration with the Alabama Department of Education in the development of state technology standards for teacher certification.
