Abstract

In order to contribute to the current research on Project-Based-Learning (PBL) with Digital Storytelling approach, a new project, DISTCO PBL was developed based on the experiences of Digital Storytelling Contests (DISTCO). In DISTCO PBL 2015, digital stories were accepted online through http://www.distco.org/PBL. Specifically, this paper will highlight how students responded to PBL with digital storytelling approach in the classroom, what they hoped to gain by using digital stories in PBL projects, whether digital stories helped students academically, students’ beliefs and observations on the impacts of digital storytelling on their learning and 21st century skills. In addition, this paper will analyze students’ perspectives on using digital stories in the classroom, and the motivational factors for using digital stories
