Abstract

Incidental learning is learning without intent, which usually happens during the time of doing something else other than learning. By incidental learning on the web, we mean incidental learning happened to a learner while he or she is browsing the web. To make incidental learning on the web more meaningful and more productive for the learners to achieve his or her ultimate short and/or long term learning goals, some enabling technologies are necessary. In this paper, we explore some of these enabling technologies that are important for the implementation of incidental learning on the web, and report some of our findings.
