The Eight Events of Instruction: An Instructional Method based on the Constructivist Paradigm

Abstract
In the cognitivist learning paradigm, the information-processing theory serves as a useful model to describe the act of learning as an internal process that comprises of several stages. One of the most popular instructional models that are based on the information-processing theory is Gagné's (1985) "nine events of instruction". In view of the constructivist learning paradigm, this paper adapts Gagné's nine events to assimilate the notions of constructivism.
