Abstract

This PT3 strand session describes the faculty professional development efforts of the MIMIC Project (Modeling Instruction With Modern Information and Communications Technologies), a Preparing Tomorrow?s Teachers to Use Technology (PT3) Implementation Grant. Five Colleges of Education in the greater Cleveland area have collaborated to increase the level of modeling in pre-service teacher education classrooms and field experiences. Each institution will outline distinct professional development methods for meeting the needs of faculty who prepare teacher education students. The presenters will highlight the successful approaches and explain methods for implementation. Each institution will describe how they are meeting the needs of their specific constituency.

The MIMIC project originated in as a capacity grant in1999. The Implementation Grant was initiated in July of 2000.
