Abstract

This paper includes a short description of the attributes of the process of learning and the critical analysis of the influence of technology on them. The learning process is influenced by different methods, tools, technologies and learner characteristics. Learner’s characteristics mean learner’s comfort zone, learner’s experience, learner’s needs, interest and motivation. Learners’ characteristics are embedded in their cultures. One’s values and belief system is personal which plays an important role when people are placed in collaborative learning situation. In 21st century most of these collaboration happens with the use of digital tools and technologies. This paper gives an in-depth critical analysis of the process of learning and cognition. In the concluding remarks the author argues that we all are equally responsible for learning to become successful. In 21st century onus is on the individual to choose appropriate tools, environments and technologies for learning.
