Abstract

This study uses the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE 2001) National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) and Performance Indicators to compare the integration of technology used by Little Rock middle childhood teachers and middle childhood teacher education candidates at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) teacher education program. The study examines data collected from 2001-2007 teacher education candidates’ exit portfolios, current students enrolled in UALR’s middle childhood program, and data gathered from Little Rock, AR middle school teachers attending a summer science institute. This paper assesses the middle school program’s preparation of technology literate middle school teachers.
