Abstract
This is paper describes a method of introduction of a collaborative learning system in an elementary school in Japan. In this study we intend to evaluate a groupware for teaching and learning. The evaluation of software is only possible when the people use it. Therefore, our initial task in this study is to innovate effective implementation strategies for the groupware. We need to provide support to the users in order to use the groupware and gain confidence in using it. When the users feel confident enough after using the system for a couple of weeks, they were then in a position to evaluate different features of the groupware. We have used the method of collaborative protocol analysis, interview and survey using questionnaire for the evaluation of the system. The analysis and interpretation of data has revealed a number of factors for consideration, which has been discussed briefly.
