Abstract

This paper addresses how the project-based learning was designed and then implemented in a graduate applied technology course at State University of New York at Oswego. The focus of the course was to engage students to produce projects that were authentic, meaningful, and intended for future teaching and professional use. This paper outlines the course content, provides an overview of the processes involved in developing the project-based learning activities, and reports the responses of students in the course on effectiveness of learning process and perception of technology integration on completed projects. Discussion for using project-based learning and examples of students' projects (educational web review, WebQuest, and web-based portfolio) are included.
