Abstract

Preservice teachers do not believe that their teacher education courses prepare them to use technology innovatively in their future classrooms (Willis, Thompson & Sadera, 1999). The Best Practices project is intended to elevate this problem by producing a videocase database designed to provide models of teachers using technology innovatively along with the materials necessary to integrate the same lesson in other classrooms. This paper provides a general overview of the beginning stages of teacher selection and documentation necessary for the filming of teachers in the Best Practices project, supplying the reader with a framework of the initial process of collecting videocases for web-based use.
