Abstract
The use of Electronic Portfolios in the College of Education (COE) at Arizona State University West (ASUW) results from collaborative efforts of COE faculty and support from the ASUW Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology grant. Each Program (e.g. elementary and secondary) has aligned state teaching competencies and National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers with preservice teacher program course requirements. This archive of artifacts is organized in an electronic portfolios using web-based software, allowing preservice teachers and faculty easy access and manipulation of documents. The focus of the portfolio project is to foster reflective processes within preservice teachers. As a result, the portfolio demonstrates growth over time and establishes a library of artifacts from which preservice teachers can select representative artifacts and compose reflections to produce a showcase portfolio usable for presentations and interviews. This study examines the reflective practices of ASUW preservice teachers.
