Abstract
Since the Internet video streaming technology was introduced to the college distance learning (DL) environment, there has been a need to study the evaluative impressions of students toward the use of this learning modality for both on-campus and off-campus e-learning. A better understanding of students' perceptions and attitudes toward the use of streamed online lectures not only help faculty assess course content, but it also helps university officials prepare Internet-based distance education courses and programs. This paper presents a survey among the college students in a communication course taught at the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UHH). Student's attitudes toward the streamed online lectures, streamed online reviews, and text-based web e-learning materials were assessed. Students' perspectives on the use of these e-learning materials were also investigated, evaluated, and discussed.
