To the Flipped Classroom and Beyond!

While basic principles of learning can apply broadly to all learners, differentiation for the unique needs of learners is crucial for supporting the success of every learner. Differentiated instruction usually brings to mind students with different rates and styles of learning at the PreK/12 levels. This paper, however, discusses the effects of a different group of students and their special needs: graduate level/non-traditional learners. The literature on andragogy reports that certain techniques facilitate learning by adults, just as flipped education enhances learning through other strategies. So, what does this mean for adult learners? This is a journey investigating the key principles of adult learning and flipped instruction combined with online and blended instruction. This discussion investigates the relationship between the three.
