Abstract

In recent years there has been a rapid increase in the use of web-based tools in education. Wikis and blogs are web-based tools which have been used in different ways in education. This ongoing study aims at finding out undergraduate students' perceptions of using wikis as reflection tool in a technology class. A wiki, as defined by Franklin and Harmelen (2007), is “a system that allows one or more people to build up a corpus of knowledge in a set of interlinked web pages, using a process of creating and editing pages” (p. 5). Drawn from its definition, wikis are always used as collaboration and sharing tools in education in order to promote collaborative learning. Not much is reported by way of research concerning the use of wiki as a reflective tool.
