Abstract: This study was designed to motivate undergraduate students’ sport performance by using Facebook group as a learning platform, and fitness apps to track and share their fitness activities. An eight-week experiment was conducted in fall, 2014. Three classes were chosen. The class with a Facebook group and fitness apps as the treatment got significantly better scores on their cardiorespiratory endurance fitness tests and reported their weekly exercise time significantly more than the Control 2 group. However, no significant difference was found in their fitness knowledge. COI survey results showed that Teacher Presence element played a major role to motivate students’ fitness performance during the experiment. Reflections and suggestions for the experiment were also provided.
