Abstract

E-portfolio is a challenge for in-service teachers' training; the effectiveness of e-portfolio assessment has become a critical issue today. Can all in-service teachers in Early Childhood and Elementary M Ed. program at Kennesaw State University move to e-portfolio? With a comprehensive and friendly use system, applicable approach, and measurable guidelines and rubrics, 79 in-service teachers have participated in a pilot study. As the result of this pilot study, the presenters found that e-portfolio is no longer a theoretical practice; instead it is now integrated in classroom teaching and evaluated as a learning process. This paper is to introduce an e-portfolio system designed and developed at Kennesaw State University; share the beauty and thorn of e-portfolio approach in in-service teacher training; and explore the effective strategies to expedite the applicable and measurable ways to facilitate in-service teachers' successful learning and technology implementation in classroom teaching.
