The Promoting Best Practice in Virtual Campuses (PBP-VC) project is a two year European Commission DG Education and Culture co-financed study which is aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the key issues and success factors underlying the implementation of virtual campuses. The PBP-VC project involves working with key stakeholders throughout the European Union in order to investigate best practice in virtual campuses. The outcome of the project is the development of a model and framework that has been developed which is aimed at identifying and evaluating best practice in e-learning and virtual campuses. The framework covers areas relating to best practice from organisational, pedagogical, technological, financial, student/user and sustainability related issues. The framework also explores key issues relating to best practice and key success factors within the context of virtual campus project management success, virtual campus project success and organisational transformation success.
