Abstract

This work introduces an online learning-environment for electronic circuits. The framework particularly includes the implementation of an innovative display-methodology for three-dimensional (3D) visualization of circuit schematics. The use of computer-graphics allows instant display of simulation results as animations of the 3D schematic. For a comprehensive introduction to the novel methodology for both beginners and experts in electronics, the learning-environment includes example circuits with explanation pages, step-by-step courses and video tutorials. The integration of interactive circuit editor, simulation engine and visualization allows not only to follow predefined examples but to creatively build new circuits and investigate their behavior in 3D. Through the new display-methodology, the introduced framework opens a completely new approach to the understanding of electronic circuits to students of all levels.
