Abstract
Many environmental issues are caused by irresponsible behaviors. To equip people with knowledge of everyday chemical pollutants is crucial to favorable attitudes and choices which lead to improved environmental quality and public health. This paper demonstrates development of a 3-D computer game as an educational tool to raise public awareness of chemical pollutants and their biological and environmental consequences. The game is developed on Second Life, integrating OpenSim to avoid the disadvantage of the official Second Life server. The first stage of the game development has been successful and has received positive feedback from the audience.
