Abstract

This study presents the revised program for my course Exercises of Integrated Learning (EIL), which aims to cultivate the problem-solving abilities of teachers and students. A feature of this course is to introduce views and ways of thinking that should be learned in each subject area. Formative evaluation of the previous program shows that it achieved its purpose to some degree, but certain steps in the problem-solving process constrained its effectiveness because they received too much attention in the lessons and e-learning material. Therefore, I introduce herein new lesson content in the form of similar activities that teach students how to use these new views and ways of thinking in other steps. Moreover, I develop new e-learning material and revise the rubric of self-evaluation as well as that of the e-portfolio system’s development. Finally, I evaluate the new program based on the log data in the e-learning and e-portfolio systems.
