Abstract

This paper reports the findings of a national study designed to research and analyze the current status of distance education in teacher education programs. The results include data from 102 teacher education programs and an analysis of types of distance education uses, frequencies of use, and rationales for use, as well as markers of successful usage. This work is designed to complement existing case study research and allow for comparative analysis between qualitative and quantitative baseline data to inform future decision making and further research agendas.
