Abstract

Teaching online is a new incident for many higher education instructors that demand to instruct online and mixed mode, especially for the campus-based universities. Integrated e-Learning technology as the innovation in teaching and learning nowadays, instructors have to aware more about their new competencies and roles to successful manage the online classroom. The e-Learning Professional certificate program under the Thai Cyber University project has trained an individual who is a traditional instructor or the e-Learning staff in related fields through the virtual classroom to have deep understanding about e-Learning. This paper aimed to analyze the opinion of forty-three online learners’ messages from the discussion forums that discussed about the competencies and roles of online instructor. It was interesting to know what online learner thought and reflected especially the learners who are a teacher themselves. Research results were discussed and emphasized the guidelines of training the online instructor program.
