Abstract

This proposal reports a web-based system that can be used to prepare students for critical assessment and facilitate peer review. Despite their wide use in education, paper-based peer assessment systems have been reported to have some issues, such as peer pressure, time of engagement, and student lack of ability to conduct critical assessment. This online peer assessment system has been designed and implemented to overcome these issues. Preliminary data regarding its effectiveness are positive and future empirical studies are warranted.
