Abstract
At Hwa Chong Institution, students who offer the Science and Mathematics Talent Program are required to carry out an in-depth research of a science or mathematics topic of their choice. Some of these students have been selected to work collaboratively with students from the Academy of Science of Virginia, USA. This cross-continental partnership provides students from both countries the experience of working like real scientists, who collaborate with their counterparts from different parts of the world. It also provides students with the valuable opportunity to exchange scientific knowledge. In addition, it also enables students to learn to work with people from different cultures. This study provides insights on how the program was implemented and presents a collation of the feedback on the program from the participants. Findings of this study will provide both schools involved in the program with information for improvements. It also serves to inform schools who wish to start a similar program.
