As the learning through computer is on the rise, the demand for e-learning, based on information technology, is gradually increasing. If an e-learning system in which learning can be carried out in line with learner’s own levels, the learning efficiency will be maximized, due to the effect of one to one tutoring for learners, as if a teacher provided one to one tutoring. The need to reduce costs, make learning available globally and achieve quicker access to new knowledge has led to a vast growth in e-learning within organizations. This paper seeks to highlight what practical measure organizations can adopt in order to maximize their RoI from e-learning. It also highlights the competency based E-Learning model which follows the “Just in Time” approach so as to improve the quality of E-learning Technology. This paper describes some of the key issues associated with e-learning and knowledge management for effective implementation of e-learning initiatives.Index Terms-E-learning, RoI, knowledge management
