Abstract

This paper presents a study where instructor's facilitation of knowledge construction in an asynchronous conference is examined. Focusing on findings from an earlier study of patterns of knowledge construction in 3 sets of weeks throughout the semester, instructor's participation within and outside of the conference discussion is analyzed, through an examination of her discussion participation, forum instructions and emails, as well as student reflections.
