Abstract: The University of Nebraska at Omaha's College of Education (UNO) has been using electronic portfolios as part of student assessment since 2000. UNO has continued a collaborative effort with two Omaha Public Schools Magnet Centers to develop and implement an electronic portfolio system for middle school students. Participants will learn about the process involved in the implementation of a comprehensive standards-based electronic portfolio system. The session will discuss issues such as the electronic portfolio with assessment plans, sample assessments, electronic cumulative reports, the staff development and staff support needed to successfully implement an electronic portfolio system. A demonstration of the portfolio system will be presented.
