Abstract

The study is a multi-phase research project, and the researcher aims to investigate how to develop and integrate the learning technology, Augmented Reality (AR), into writing course and to facilitate students’ Chinese writing ability. There were two phases of the current study, in phase one, the researcher collected Chinese teachers’ ideas and needs of using AR techniques for assisting Chinese writing, and then the prototype of AR-based writing system was constructed accordingly. In the second phase, the evaluation of the system was conducted and a revised AR-based writing system was proposed based on the preliminary feedback from the instructors. Suggestions of how to integrate the developed AR writing support system into formal writing course for the next phase of the study was discussed in the end of the paper.
