Abstract

Social media has become a central networking feature within the education settings. Educators, as do students, incorporate diverse social media sites and applications as part of their daily activities. Educators aim to plan learning environments that maximize the quality of their students learning. Witnessing the use of social media sites for social, civil and political exchange and action in the Near East, the purpose of the study was to see if Lebanese students needed to know what social media was to use it effectively to successfully exchange views and actions. It was not. The findings are discussed, implications made and recommendations suggested.
