Abstract

This paper analyses the current perspectives, assumptions and future research underpinning the field of foreign and second language teaching and learning in three selected key journals in the last two years (2013-2014). It explores how the inclusion of technological resources and its affordances can impact the dynamics in the teaching and learning process. This paper also attempts to outline the methodological approaches in these journals' research studies and how the decisions made in regards to selection of participants, data collection and analysis have had major impact in the results. Additionally, this paper points out the implications for continuing research in the area and what direction it should go in order to make the teaching and learning experience with technology optimal and meaningful.
