Abstract

Almost five years of experience with a learning management system (LMS) in a university setting has been an enriching personal and professional journey. Especially, the use of an LMS in facilitating communication, schedule management, and access to learning resources has yielded a wealth of experience. Based on the foundation of this experience, I have begun to consider how the use of an LMS could be extended by introducing some potentially "disruptive" technologies into the teaching and learning environment. Chief among these technologies is the provision of mobility via various wireless access methods.
