Abstract

Abstract: This paper describes and analyses an ongoing project to develop a range of online information technology learning materials as part of a flexibly delivered Bachelor of Information Technology. Given the imperative to reach a wider range of potential students and to enhance curriculum and teaching practices, a central question was how to achieve this with limited staff, resources and within a relatively short time frame. The paper argues that forming and developing a professional community of practice played an essential role in the success of the project and its accrued benefits for staff, students and the School of IT as a whole.
