Abstract
The development of online courses is becoming increasingly popular. In addition to the multimedia benefits that the WWW offers, institutions can enhance existing courses using WWW technologies such as chat and discussion tools. These tools can allow students from different institutions to participate in group work which is pedagogically sound as well as a valuable cultural experience. On-line collaborative courses are an ideal way to expose students to different cultural perspectives. This paper discusses the development and implementation of an online collaborative course used to teach advanced international business at undergraduate level at Auckland University of Technology. The paper discusses the nature of the collaborative exercises undertaken by the students and concludes with a reflective evaluation of the course.
