Abstract
The number of colleges adopting the use of Smart Mobile devices (SMDs) in class is on the rise. However, up to now there is limited evidence regarding their effectiveness in teaching and learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the use of SMDs on pre-service teachers’ achievements in a math class, in addition to investigating students’ attitudes towards the use of SMDs. A pretest and posttest as well as a 5-point Likert-type questionnaire were used in this study. The results of this study indicated that students had a fair attitude toward the use of SMDs in learning mathematics.
