Abstract
Social networking sites are among the most visited web pages on the internet. They are collaborative environments that use synchronous and asynchronous communication methods and afford connected users the ability to publish, edit, and exchange content with online community members around the world. Given that users of social network sites are connected through a variety of digital devices advances opportunities for information collaboration without restrictions of place or time. This technological convenience can be used to facilitate social activity for formal or informal personal, business, or educational purposes, while leveraging tools to enhance digital skills. The inclusion of social networking within the context of education is supportive to adult learners inundated with life’s challenges. The purpose of this study is to investigate adult learner’s perceptions of using social networking sites for course discussions and feedback in a college setting.
