Abstract
The aim of this study is to contribute some reflections on the possibilities of learning analytics in online learning platforms. Our intention is to personalise the teaching-learning processes and thereby maximise their efficiency. We base our analysis and evaluation on a specific platform: Xtend as a social learning environment. We support the use of learning analytics in educational contexts based on self-regulated and cooperative learning. We propose a series of student activity indicators which should be taken into consideration in an Learning Management System.
