Abstract

At Saint Leo University, we decided that we wanted to better prepare our students to be leaders in the use of educational technology. In order for us as a faculty to prepare our students, we knew we needed to start by educating ourselves on how to use current technologies but also to learn about technologies that were on the horizon for the coming years. After doing this for a year and surveying students, we realized that access was a real issue for our students. As a result, we developed an Education Technology Lab for students to practice using equipment before a lesson to become more comfortable using various technologies. . This year, we opened a classroom for the 21st Century , a technology-enhance room that not only includes technology for the instructor, but also equipment for students to have a hands-on experience. This session will review how we accomplished this, what we have learned, issues we are still working on and future goals.
