Abstract

This paper is a report on how a leading private Brazilian Middle and High School, in partnership with a law firm, systematized and formalized the discussion of Internet safety practices with all the 2700 students and 300 teachers and employees. An ongoing course was created, composed of 3 face to face lessons, complemented by online tools such as a blog, a social network tool, email and an LMS (Learning Management System). Surveys were conducted to evaluate student internet user profile (tools, attitudes, and behaviors) and the impact of the course to their daily practices, by analyzing the data collected each year of this ongoing longitudinal study.
