Abstract

This study establishes teachers’ experiences with the internet, teaching and project-based learning, examines their attitudes toward Web 2.0 and determines the relationship between these factors with the use of Web 2.0 in project-based learning activities. Teachers in all 13 middle and high schools in two counties of West Virginia were surveyed. The findings indicate that teachers’ use of internet in PBL reflects the notion that students are consumers of the internet content and not so much collaborative creators of knowledge. Though teachers had positive attitudes toward Web 2.0, they still faced to challenge of making technology sufficiently available to their students in classrooms. Findings and implications were discussed.
